"Ant-Man"

Take a look @ 'the good, the band and the ugly' in director Peyton Reed's Marvel Studios' feature "Ant-Man":

MICHAEL STEVENS/SNEAKPEEK.CA FOR 'THE GOOD':

"The latest comic book adaptation in the 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' brings a founding member of 'The Avengers' to the big screen for the first time...

"...in a 'touchie-feeler' popcorn movie, that will get your mandibles clicking...

"...@ the sight of spectacular micro and macro cinematography...

"...the 'It's About Damn Time' introduction of a strong female character in Evangeline Lilly...

"..a crusty delivery from Michael Douglas as 'Hank Pym', the original 'Ant-Man'...

"...and a low-key performance from comic actor Paul Rudd as 'Scott Lang', a MacGyver-like ex-con cat-burglar .

"Great moments include Lang...

"... 'mounting the thorax' of a flying ant named 'Antony'...

"...a "Thomas The Tank Engine' unexpectedly involved in a fight between Ant-Man and the super-villain 'Yellowjacket'....

"...and 'The Wasp', creating a buzz, being teased as an upcoming Marvel movie character.

"Best surprises ? A fight with the high-flying 'Falcon'...

"Plus a psychedelic worlds-within-worlds sub-atomic journey...

GRAF ORLOK FOR 'THE BAD':

"Michael I agree that Evangeline Lilly is an absolute bomb shell here, with lovely red lips and a winning smile...

"...plus a martial arts fighting form that places her alongside Marvel's 'Maria Hill', 'Mockingbird'  and 'Black Widow'.

"Unfortunately (for me) there are no sexual situations in this film, but that just got me to thinking about a "Fantastic Voyage" update...

"...with a tiny submarine miniaturized to explore every inch of a super-model's body..."

JANE DOBERMAN FOR 'THE UGLY':

"Sorry to be anti 'Ant-Man' gang, but this Marvel flick kinda' bugged me, like it was really produced for the Disney Channel.

"Rudd's Scott Lang character is so charming as to be a dimwit...

"Right from the get-go, he is involved in a bare-knuckle brawl in a crowded prison, as he 'good-naturedly' gets his face punched in, during a vicious send-off from his convict brothers.

"Then when Lang (finally) gets shrunk by a logic-defying 'Ant-Man suit'...

"...every Richard Matheson 'shrinking man' cliche is dragged out...

"With carnivorous ants, now as cuddly as 'Bambi'...

"...elevated from pests to a lovable species.

"Michael Douglas as 'Hank Pym', the original 'Ant-Man', looks more like a centipede here...

"...with unflattering close-ups, as he becomes involved in overwrought father-daughter melodrama.

Only in 'Marvel Movies' kids, only in Marvel Movies..."
